Local industry knowledge and focus
We are focused exclusively on the inclusive financial services sector which our Managing Partners have established operating and investment track records in. We have developed strong local and international networks which we bring to bear to our partner institutions’ benefit and have a deep understanding of local trends as well as international industry best practices.
We have picked our core target markets very deliberately to be close to our operating base in Nairobi, Kenya. Such focus enables our Team to remain close to our partner institutions. This way, we can offer full support to our investees as and when it is needed, acting as a genuine business partner far and beyond the regular board meetings.
All of PEAMEF’s funds are committed exclusively to equity and quasi equity investment, thereby avoiding the potential conflict of interest embedded in simultaneous provision of debt and equity capital entirely. As a result, we have sufficient flexibility to support the capital needs of our investee companies as these needs evolve over time.
Through the combined experience of our Team, we are able to support the management of our investees on matters relating to strategy, financial planning, capital raising, risk management, corporate governance as well as strategic partnerships and industry best practices, inter alia.
